Greetings from New Orleans, “The Big Easy”. Karen Duncan and I are spending a few days here as part of the New Orleans 2026 Travel Advisor Summer FAM Program. Although Karen and I have visited the destination several times before, this trip gives us an opportunity to try out this FAM option, offered by New Orleans & Company and its many partners. Of course, there is no shortage of great dining options for us to sample while in the city. I’ll share some additional insights on the FAM program and the destination certification course in the “PTANA DID YOU KNOW” section below. Here is this week’s summary of professional development opportunities for your review. The following events took place this week:
- Maryland Chapter hosted an in person “Carnival Night” in Linthicum Heights, MD featuring guest speaker, Kathy Donnelly, Business Development Director with Carnival Cruise Line
- Hampton Roads VA Chapter hosted an in person event in Portsmouth, VA featuring African Travel, with Candice Waldeck, Regional Sales Manager Mid-Atlantic and Brendan Vacations, with Donna Murray, Regional Sales Manager East Coast & Canada
