The 14^th Annual Convention in Panama has concluded and it was a very successful one. I hope you are ready for the announcement of the 15^th Anniversary Convention. 

I want to thank National Education Chair, Mary Burley, for the hosting the educational presentation, 2022 CLIA STATE OF THE INDUSTRY. As members of PTANA, we will always be willing to educate our members. Thank you again, Chair Burley.

The November meeting for Maryland Chapter will be an in person meeting. Alaska is coming to Maryland. The following representatives will be educating the members, Visit Anchorage, Tia Froehle, Senior Sales Manager, Tanya Carlson, Director of Travel Trade, International Markets and Sustainability, and Bill Wright, Alaska Travel Industry Association, Director of Tourism and Meeting of Explore Fairbanks.

The meeting will take place on November 17, 2022, 6:30pm.

Tia Froehle, Visit Anchorage Senior Sales Manager,

As a lifelong Alaskan, Tia Froehle knows her home like the back of her hand.  Her love for the outdoors and adventure has allowed her to explore this amazing state of Alaska and wants you to experience it too! From fishing for the next big one, exploring our many hiking trails in the Chugach Mountains, playing golfing under the midnight sun, enjoying a cold local craft beer to downhill skiing and fat tire biking in the winter, Tia can help make your dream Alaska adventure a reality!

Tracy Zadra

Tracy Zadra is a 30 year Alaskan resident and proudly works for the Alaska Railroad as a Passenger Sales Executive and Travel Trade Liaison.

Tracy is no stranger to the Alaska tourism industry. From driving motor coaches in Denali State Park to working at remote wilderness lodges, to Tour Directing large groups through the Canadian Rockies and Alaska…she truly enjoys sharing in the wonders of her home state.

Her contagious enthusiasm and love of Alaska continues to direct adventurous travelers North with every opportunity!

Bill Wright

Bill Wright has the honor of serving as Director of Tourism and Meeting Sales of Explore Fairbanks. He has been a professional in the field of destination marketing and management since 2012. Bill has had various leadership roles throughout his career, including more than 30 years in Radio and Television Broadcast Management. He currently serves on the board of directors of Midnight Sun Council Boy Scouts in Fairbanks, is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Fairbanks and a past Assistant District Governor of Rotary International District 5010.

Bill and the Explore Fairbanks Tourism and Meeting Sales team collaborate with the community to market Fairbanks as a destination to international and domestic tour operators, travel agents, airlines and other travel professionals, host numerous annual meetings and conventions, and share their love of the Golden Heart City at international and domestic consumers shows.

Bill married Cindy in 1990, and they have four children, ages 18 to 29.
